Someone is usually at the store between 9 am and 7 pm, Monday through Saturday. We always try to answer the phone when you call; however, sometimes, we are unable to answer the phone as we are on the other lines or we have customers in the store. If you get the voice mail, please leave your name, number, brief message and a best time to call. We will return your call just as soon as we can.
If you don't want to call, just send us an email. We usually answer our emails daily. Please remember, we are a resource and we are here to serve you.

WINE MAKING LOG AND DATABASE

Whether from customers on the Internet or in the store, I am constantly asked about all of our wine kits. How does this kit taste? How does this kit compare to this kit? Which Pinot Noir is the best? With over 250 different wine kits in stock, not only have I not made them all, it is difficult to remember all the kits I have made and how each of them taste and compare to other kits. Consequently, I have decided to make them all!
In our continuing effort to give you the best information about our products, we have added our Wine Making Log and Database to the web site. This online tool will list every wine we make here at The Wine Maker's Toy Store starting with Batch 0001 from September, 2007. Initially, we will start with just wine kits, but as time and fresh fruits become available, we will add in an occasional country wine and some meads.
The log is very similar to standard wine logs and will contain the S.G and temperature at each step, as well as the processes and date the processes occurred. We will also indicate any deviations from the kit instructions. At bottling, we will have a wine tasting and post results based on the UC Davis modified 20 point scale. We will also have subsequent tasting so you can see how the wines aged.
We will also be adding information about the grapes, including its varietal characteristics, its history and the predominant areas where each grape is grown. Here is the link to the log and database:
We also have a special topic in our forum to provide feedback on this resource. You can use the following link to tell us what you like or don't like about the log and offer any suggestions for improving the tool. You will need to be a registered user of the forum to post to this topic.

| WineMaker Magazine Conference

I will be attending the WineMaker Magazine Conference in Napa starting May 15th and won't return until May 20th. The good news is that I hope to return with lots of valuable information. The bad news is that we will not be able to maintain our prompt shipping schedule. If you are concerned that you order could be delayed during this time, please place your order as soon as possible so we can get everything shipped before l leave.

| Wine of the Month

Winexpert has issued a new Crushendo, the Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is a full bodied Cab with heavy oak intensity. The Crushendo Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon's elegant and powerful nose showcases big black cherry character with nuances of mocha cedar and cigar box. It is bold and chewy on the palate with concentrated cassis, blackberry and cedar flavors along with firm structure and smooth (but powerful) tannins showing elegance on the long finish.
To celebrate this new product, we are putting all of our grape pack wine kits on special for $20.00 off! This special includes 5 Winexpert Crushendo's, 1 RJ Spagnols En Primeur and 3 Cellar Craft Limited Releases. Please note that the Cellar Craft Kits are the remaining kits from the 2008 Limited Release offering. As a a result, we will not be able to obtain any more; therefore, these will be sold on a first come, first sold basis. For those of you in the FVW Grower's Club, you will still get your 5 or 10% off on top of this discount. As a result you could get one of these wine kits for almost $35.00 off.
Remember with all of our "Wines of the Month", we try to anticipate demand, but may not be 100% successful. If we run out of a special, we will advise you of such and an expected ship date. In addition, we only have a few of the limited availability wines left and will not be able to obtain anymore. Consequently, these kits will be sold on a first come basis.
