HOLIDAY SHIPPING SCHEDULE
We are trying our best to continue to ship all orders within 48 hours, even during the holiday season; however, due to increased orders, we have been falling behind a day or two. This is mainly due to running out of wine kits. We have fresh kits coming in at least once a week, but if you have a particular item on your Christmas list, our advice to you is to order it as soon as you can.
In addition, we will continue to ship through December 22nd. If you want to guarantee an item will arrive before Christmas, please order by December 18th.

We are proud to announce Dallas' first conference devoted to home wine making. Although we have not finalized the schedule or guest speakers and won't until January, we can tell you the following about this event:
- We are planning on having this at the end of April or the first of May, depending upon the availability of the wine judges and presentors.
- It will start with an informal mixer on a Friday night and we will have judging and presentations on Saturday with a dinner on Saturday night.
- We will have a contest for those that would like to enter their wines.
We have a thread in the forum asking for your ideas and suggestions. If you have any that you would like to share, please post them on this thread.

FEATURED
ARTICLE - BUILDING INVENTORY
As I talk with my wonderful customers, one of the subjects that comes up quite frequently is "Do the kit wines really improve with age?" My answer is a most definite "YES"! The Winexpert kit wines, especially the Selection Series improve dramatically after 1 year of aging. I am now into some of my wines that are 2 and 3 years old and I will put them up against any $20 bottle of commercial wine.
The next question is "how do I make enough wine so that I will have some to drink without spending a small fortune on commercial wines?" The answer is quite simple, make some Selection kits to put away and age, then make some Vintner's Reserve wines to drink while the other wines age. Yes, the Vintner's Reserve wines are not quite as good as the Selections, but they are definitely good enough to drink for everyday wines and a lot less expensive than even Yellow Tail or some of the other less expensive wines. For the price of a case of Yellow Tail, you can make at least 30 bottles of a Vintner's Reserve wine and you won't be able to tell the difference.
If you are in a hurry for some wine, here are some Vintner's Reserve kits that are ready to drink within 2 months of the pitching of the yeast:
- Bergamais (My personal favorite!)
- Bouregon Rouge (My wife's personal favorite!)
- Bouregon Blanc (My number one white recommendation for the beginning wine maker.)
- Riesling (A fruity white German wine.)
If you are not sure which ones you will like, then find a similar wine at your local liquor store and give it a try. If you like the commercial variety, you will like the comparable kit wine. Remember, Fine Vine Wines guarantees every kit purchased from us.
Now that you have decided to build your inventory, you are going to need some additional carboys, airlocks and stoppers. What kind of store would we be if we were to entice you to make more wine and not give you a break on the carboys? Therefore, this month's newsletter special is a 6-gallon carboy, multi-fit stopper and an airlock of your choice for the low, low price of $17.99 (almost 20% off). As soon as you try one of your one year old wines, you will find out how good the Winexpert kit wines can really be!
Cheers and Happy Wine Making!

WINE
OF THE MONTH
This month we are featuring the Pinot Gris (or Grigio) grape as our wine of the month. The Pinot Gris has become a very popular wine, especially as a light summer wine. The wine produced from this grape results in a crisp, dry wine with a hint of spice. For you Chardonnay fans, this is a nice alternative wine.
